Bellerive · Hobart · Nurse-led
Collagen-stimulating skin needling with a hydration and vitamin infusion, performed by registered nurse Sarah Munnings in her private Bellerive clinic.
Who books this treatment
If two or more of these sound familiar, a consultation is a good place to start.
The treatment
A device with fine, sterile needles makes controlled micro-channels in the skin. Your skin responds with its natural repair process, producing new collagen and elastin over the following weeks.
A solution of hyaluronic acid, vitamins, amino acids and antioxidants is applied during treatment, so it reaches the skin through those channels while they're open.
Needling starts the repair. The infusion adds hydration and nourishment while it happens. Sarah matches depth and areas to your skin at consultation.
Your appointment
Sarah assesses your skin, takes your history and checks the treatment suits you. If it doesn't, she'll tell you.
Your skin is cleansed and a numbing cream is applied so the treatment is comfortable.
Skin needling with the infusion, across the areas agreed at your consultation.
You go home with written aftercare instructions and a plan for your next sessions.
About Sarah
Bloom is a nurse-led cosmetic clinic on Hobart's eastern shore. Sarah completed her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Tasmania and brings clinical experience from the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Every consultation and treatment happens in a licensed clinical setting, with the same nurse from assessment to aftercare. Options are explained plainly, and nothing goes ahead until you're fully informed.
What to expect
Results vary from person to person. Sarah will talk you through what's realistic for your skin before you go ahead.
Like any skin treatment, skin needling carries risks. These can include redness, swelling, dryness, flaking and, less commonly, pinpoint bleeding, infection or changes in pigmentation. Sarah will go through these with you at your consultation.

Expect redness for 24 to 48 hours, similar to mild sunburn. Most people go back to work the next day. Avoid make-up for 24 hours and active skincare for a few days.
A course of three is usually recommended, spaced a few weeks apart. Sarah will tailor the number and timing to your skin at your consultation.
New patients only, meaning anyone who hasn't been treated at Bloom before. Existing patients can book skin needling at the standard price.
